Safety Drills: South Central has always taken student safety very seriously. This past week, we conducted a locker search with the help of the K-9 unit from the LaPorte County Sheriff's Office as well as a practice Tunnel Drill in the case of inclement weather. During our search, NO illegal drugs or substances were found on the premise. We thank our students for taking drills seriously and to our staff and community for support!

Classroom Spotlight
Mr. Konshak's English Class
This week, Mr. Dan Konshak is out classroom spotlight. Mr. Konshak is in his 2nd year of teaching at South Central, where he also did his student teaching. He currently is teaching English 11, English 11 Honors, Sports History Analysis, and English 12.
Mr. Konshak added a new class this year, Genres Literature: Sports History Analysis. In this class, students have an opportunity to learn reading and writing skills through sport literature rather than traditional literature. Students read sections of different sports historical texts as well as a few full texts. Mr. Konshak enjoys learning and continuing to work on reading and writing skills through a different scope. The class was open this year only to upperclassman and has been very popular so far.
Mr. Konshak loves the sense of community he has felt while teaching here at South Central. He admires the culture at SC and the opportunities for students to challenge themselves and be challenged by our educators. He states that as an educator, he enjoys leaving at the end of the day knowing he's been given an opportunity to make a different in the lives of tomorrow's leaders.
We appreciate the approach Mr. Konshak brings to South Central and his ability to relate and connect to our students!
