End-of-Day Dismissal Procedure Updates
Thank you for a fantastic start to the new school year! End-of-day dismissal procedures are a challenge for all schools. We are no exception here at SC. We are going to make a couple of small changes in an effort to improve the efficiency of dismissal time. We appreciate your patience and cooperation!
- South Drive as ENTRANCE ONLY. Beginning Friday, August 28th, the South Drive into the school (by the baseball field) will be an ENTRANCE ONLY from 2:40-3:05pm.
- All 3 lanes will be entrance only.
- The lane closest to the school remains the elementary only pick-up line.
- The middle lane will remain the JH/HS pick-up lane. This is also the pick-up line if families have students in BOTH elementary and JH/HS.
- The lane closest to the baseball field (that is normally the exit lane) will be an entrance into the parking lot area.
- The far North Drive on the elementary end of the building (and by the playground) is always an EXIT ONLY.
- A staff member will be present to assist in directing traffic, so that both pick-up line vehicles and student drivers can merge and exit safely.
- All student drivers will need to exit using the north drive now.
- Students with Bus Service
- If you have bus service for your child, please consider utilizing that whenever possible. This will reduce the number of vehicles in the car line and speed up that process a bit.
- If your child can ride the bus but has not been riding, please contact the school office or the bus driver to ensure details are worked out.
- Turn Lane on County Road 600 W
- South Central's administration has been working with county officials in an effort to add a 3rd lane to 600 W between the school driveway entrances.
