Public Access AED SaveStation Installed
Located in front of the school building outside door #3, a public access AED SaveStation has been installed. South Central extends its heartfelt appreciation to Tonn & Blank Construction for their generous donation that made the installation of the new SaveStation possible. This SaveStation, which becomes the 6th outdoor 24/7 accessible AED, provides an important layer of safety for the campus. Unlike traditional units, the SaveStation is designed to automatically call 911 the moment the AED is removed from the cabinet. The other five outdoor, temperature-controlled AED units were made possible by generous donations from the Health Foundation of LaPorte.
South Central also thanks Julie West from the Play for Jake Foundation and Derek Allen from the LaPorte County Sheriff's Office for spearheading this effort and partnering with the school to bring this new SaveStation, a life-saving resource, to the community.
This addition further strengthens the network of 10+ AEDs already located throughout the school building and Student Activity Center, reflecting the ongoing commitment to the safety and well-being of the students, staff, and community. In total, 15+ AEDs are on campus. AEDs are managed and maintained by the certified athletic trainer, Danielle McIntyre, and Kelli Soenksen, the school corporation nurse.
