Drug Test Policy


Implementation of Random Substance Abuse Testing Program started on August 1, 2011 (Posted 06/07/2012)
South Central High School implemented a random substance abuse testing program on August 1st, 2011.  All High School students who are involved in athletics, extra-curricular clubs, or obtain a school parking pass will be included in the random testing program.

Elementary Sports



Cheerleading

All fifth grade students may participate as cheerleaders. Sixth grade students must try out for the six (6) cheerleading positions. All participants must have a current physical form on file in the office. A physical is good for one school year. Students who wish to participate should have medical or accident insurance. If needed, accident insurance can be purchased through the school. Cheerleaders perform at the 5th and 6th grade basketball games and must provide their own uniforms.

Boys and girls in grades 5 & 6 will have the opportunity to participate on a basketball team. All participating students must have a current physical form on file in the office. A physical is good for one school year. Students who wish to participate should also have medical or accident insurance. Accident insurance can be purchased through the school if needed. Games will be played against teams from other schools during the following months: Boys' Seasons - January through February. Girls' Season - January through March.

Cross Country
Boys and girls in grade 6 have the opportunity to participate on the Junior High Cross Country team. All participating students must have a current physical form on file in the office. A physical is good for one school year. Students who wish to participate should also have medical or accident insurance. Accident insurance can be purchased through the school if needed. Cross Country is a fall sport.

Football
Boys in grade 6 have the opportunity to participate on the Junior High Football team. All participating students must have a current physical form on file in the office. A physical is good for one school year. Students who wish to participate should also have medical or accident insurance. Accident insurance can be purchased through the school if needed. Football is a fall sport.

Adams Central High School
222 West Washington St., Monroe

30 E to 69 S to 469 E to 27 S. Go through Decatur; 6 miles to light; turn left at 124. Go 1/2 mil. School will be on left. This is about a 2.5 hour ride by bus.



Argos High School
500 Yearick Street, Argos

US 31 S to SR 10. Go east on SR 10 approximately 1 mile to Yearick Street. Go north on Yearick Street to School.

I-90 W (Toll Road), Merge onto Gary Ave via Exit 10 toward IN-912/Cline Ave/Gary/Chicago Airport. Take the Cline Ave/IN-912 ramp toward Chicago Ave/IN-312. US 30 to State Road 49; South on 49 past Morgan Twp. High School, through Malden to CR 600; West on 600 to "T"; North to CR 550 S.; West on 550 to school.

Bremen High School
511 W. Grant Street, Bremen


East on Hwy 6 to Bremen. Don't go over overpass, take road to right (106). Turn right at Bown Street (1st light). There will be a Clark station on corner. Should be able to see school.



Bridgman High School
9964 Gast Road, Bridgman, MI

Take I-94 to Exit 16 (Bridgman Exit). Go north on Red Arrow Highway. Go to light, turn right through town. At 2nd 4-way stop, go right (there will be a Rite-Aid Drug Store). Go about half a mile to school.



Calumet High School
3900 Calhoun Street, Gary, IN 46408


Take Toll Rd. OR Hwy 6 to Interstate 80-94 towards Chicago. 80-94 to Burr St. Exit. Turn Left on Burr Street heading South. Travel 1 mile to W. Ridge Rd.. Turn Right (heading west) on W. Ridge Rd.. Take your 2nd left which is Calhoun St.

US 30 to 31 S. to 25 S. at Rochester. You will go through Fulton.

US 30 to SR 35 South to 8; East on 8 to 17; South on 17 to 10; West on 10 (.75 miles). School is on SR 10.

I-94 West to Indianapolis Blvd. North on Indianapolis Blvd. to 175th Street. Left on 175th Street to school.



Hanover Central

US 30 to Sportmart. Turn left at Sportmart and go to dead end. Turn right on 109 to Main Street; Turn left on Main Street; follow Main Street half way around the court house to 231 East.; East on 231 to flashing yellow lights; turn left on Parish to 133rd street. Right on 133rd to school (about .5 miles). This will be about a one hour trip by bus.



Hebron High School

421 South to 8; West on 8 to Hebron; about one block South of 8.



John Glenn High School
John Glenn Drive, Walkerton


Follow Hwy 6 through Walkerton; right before factory turn onto Georgia Street.



Kankakee Valley High School
3923 W. SR 10, Wheatfield


SR 421 to 10; West on 10; school will be on left.



Kesling Middle School
306 E. 18th Street, LaPorte


Hwy 39 North to 18th Street. (yellow blinking light). Turn Right. School will be several blocks down on the right hand side.



Knox Elementary School

South on Hwy 35 through Hwy 8 intersection, past hospital, and turn right at Kentucky Fried Chicken. Elementary School is on right hand side, just past first stop sign.



Lake Station Edison High School
3304 Parkside Avenue, Lake Station

US 6 to Hwy 51; North about one mile, go past Central Ave. and over railroad tracks; turn left at the Edison School sign, school is 3/4 block on right.



Laville High School
69969 US 31 S., Lakeville

US 30 (or SR 6) east to US 31; North on 31 through LaPaz. School will be past LaPaz on 31 (between LaPaz and Lakeville)



Marquette High School
306 W 10th St., Michigan City

US 421 North (becomes Franklin Street in Michigan City) to 10th Street. West (left) on 10th Street.



Michigan City High School

421 to 20. East on 20, turn right on Woodland, turn left on Pahs Road to school.



Mishawaka High School
1202 Lincolnway East, Mishawaka


Take 31 Bypass south to 331. (31 & 20 E combine, 31 turns off, stay on 20 E to 331) Take 331 to downtown Mishawaka. Turn right on Lincolnway. School is located in 1200 block of Lincolnway. Go past school to first street (one way street). You will go in doors by the street.



New Prairie High School
5333 N. Cougar Road, New Carlisle


Take SR 2 North out of LaPorte. Go East at lights as if going to South Bend. Go North at flashing light on CR 700 East to school.



Olive Township Middle School
300 West Ben Street, New Carlisle


Highway 20 to New Carlisle. South on Timothy Road to Ben Street.



Portage Fegely Middle School
5384 Stone Avenue, Portage


Hwy 6 to Willow Creek Road (by mall with K-Mart); Right on Willow Creek Road to Stone Avenue; Left on Stone Avenue; go about 1.5 miles; school will be on right



River Forest High School
3300 Indiana Street, Hobart


Hwy 6 West to Hobart. Look for Giant Chicken in front of restaurant on left hand side of highway. Turn right just after that on Indiana Ave.



Simotovich Elementary School
424 W. 500 N., Valparaiso

US 30 past Wise Way to stop light (Sylvan Manor is on left); Right on 250; go to end of 250 to 130; Left on 130 to 450 (white house on corner); Right on 450 to 500; Right on 500; You should be able to see the school from here.



South Bend Adams
(School field - Softball)

30 to 31 North to Sample Street to Eddy Street. School Field will be on north side of street.



South Bend Washington High School
4747 W. Washington, South Bend

Take Hwy 2 into South Bend to Summite Drive; Left on Summite to Washington Street.



Triton High School
300 Triton Drive, Bourbon

US 30 to 331; Right on 331. Stay on 331 a couple of blocks to Liberty Street. Go left on Liberty Street to the School.



Wheeler High School
599 W. 300 N., Valparaiso

Us 30 W to CR 600 W (Wagner's Ribs). North on 600 W to CR 300 N.



West Central High School
1852 S. US 421, Francesville


421 South between Medaryville and Francesville. School will be on left.



Whiting High School Sports Complex

From Indiana Toll Road take Calumet Avenue (41) North to 119th Street. Turn Right onto 119th Street. Continue on 119ths Street, crossing Indianapolis Blvd and passing through the business district of Whiting. Proceed on 119th and take a left on Oliver Street. (About 20 yards past Walgreens). Gymnasium will be on your right. More parking is available if you go around the block. For football, stay on Oliver Street. You will come to a stop sign. Go straight, but stay to the right. You will see the athletic complex. Turn right on Center Street.



Winamac High School
715 School Drive, Winamac

South on Hwy 35 to Winamac; stay on 35 all the way through town; Fred Allen Chevrolet on right - TURN LEFT.
