Graduation Pathways
All students who will be graduating from an Indiana high school in 2023 and beyond will be required to meet the requirements of the three parts of the Graduation Pathways. With Graduation Pathways, students are able to individualize their graduation requirements to align to their postsecondary goal of Enrollment, Employment, or Enlistment leading to service. No longer must all students fit into the same academic mold, but rather, they can choose the high school options that best meet their postsecondary needs and aspirations.
Part One: High School Diploma

Part Three: Postsecondary-Ready Competencies
Each student must complete at least one of the following:
- Honors Diploma: Fulfill all requirements of either the Academic or Technical Honors diploma
- ACT: College-ready benchmarks
- SAT: College-ready benchmarks
- ASVAB: Earn at least a minimum AFQT score to qualify for placement into one of the branches of the US military
- State-and Industry-recognized Credential or Certification
- Federally-recognized Apprenticeship
- Career-Technical Education Concentrator: Must earn a C average in at least two non-duplicative advanced courses (courses beyond an introductory course) within a particular program or program of study
- AP/IB/Dual Credit/Cambridge International courses or CLEP Exams: Must earn a C average or higher in at least three courses
- Locally created pathway that meets the framework from and earns the approval of the State Board of Education.
